Youth

God has blessed Rose of Sharon’s youth program. We have a large number of young people here, and it’s growing all the time. We’re also very fortunate to have a great group of adults who give willingly of their time to help our children grow in Christ. No matter the child’s age, there is truly something here for everyone.

Sunday mornings
The babies and tiny tots are kept in the nursery on Sunday mornings during Sunday School and worship. We promise they’ll get all the love and attention they desire from our nursery workers.

Sunday School classes are provided for all ages from 10 am – 11 am, and we offer two Children’s Church programs during the 11 am worship hour. One program is for children age 3 – kindergarten; the other is for children in 1st through 5th grade.

Sunday and Wednesday nights
We have classes covered from toddlers to teens every Wednesday and Sunday night. You never know what they’ll be working on – Bible study, hand bells, drama, music. No matter what the lesson is, they will have fun and learn about the love of Jesus Christ.

Wednesday night supper is served at 5:30 pm. Service and youth meetings begins at 7 pm. Sunday night services and youth meetings begin at 6 pm. We currently do not offer a nursery on Wednesday and Sunday nights.

Acolyte program
We want the youth of the church to participate in worship services whenever possible. The acolyte program is the perfect way to involve them! Open to those in first grade through age 12, the program allows for two children to light the candles at the beginning of worship.

Vacation Bible School
Just when we think it can’t get any bigger and better, it does! We spend months preparing for Vacation Bible School each year, and we stand amazed every year at what God provides. The more children we can share his Word with, the better. VBS is a blessing and we invite any and all to come out and enjoy.

Cragmont
Ask any of our older children about Cragmont Assembly, our retreat center in Black Mountain, NC. But you better have some time to chat when you ask. It’s a magical place where our youth spending a week each summer connecting with Christ.

Other good stuff
During the summer months, especially, our youth program takes trips, plans movie nights and lock-ins, has fundraisers and more. There is always something good going on. Come see for yourself!
